Puppy Progress 14-16 Weeks

June 20, 2014 - No Comments - 2 min read

This will be my last puppy update for a while, as little Doug has reached 16 weeks (Four months!) already. Craaazeh. I actually expected him to be bigger at 16 weeks, but he’s still such a little pup and I don’t think he’s really grown much more in the last two weeks. At least not wider or longer, maybe just a tad taller. I’m kinda glad though, I want his cute puppy vibes to last forever!

I mentioned before that he could kinda fetch. Well, he definitely can’t anymore – not since we moved anyway. I don’t know if we got too lax and he got out-of-habit with it, or if being in a new place makes him no longer understand the game, but either way, he definitely no longer retrieves. We’re still going to puppy socialisation classes, and he’s still terrified of other pups as well, but I think we’re making slow progress with it.

Since moving in with Grants parents, he’s also met many cats as Grants mum actually has four! And surprisingly, Doug has no issues making friends with them, especially the younger kittens who are barely a year old. He’s all waggy tails and face licks. Maybe he thinks he’s a cat? Oh and he still loves licking Todd’s face every morning too. It’s like routine to him!

His toilet training is going pretty well too, we’re having minimal accidents inside – although now that its summer, we’re able to constantly have the back door open for him. I don’t think he’s mastered how to tell us he needs to pee when it’s not open just yet!

We’ve had two doggy excursions in the last few weeks too, one to Huttoft Beach and one to Clumber Park. Having two dogs has definitely made me more inclined to go to new places and we definitely need to find some new places to go. We’re running out fast!

Anyway, I think that’s it for all the updates, so here’s a few photos from the last couple of weeks. There’s only a few due to our mega busy week moving, but here we go…
