Advertising Policy

As many of you know, advertising on the web and social media is pretty standard nowadays. Adverts  in general, are following you everywhere! And that does include this blog too. However, I am pretty strict about it all and I don't run this blog to just make money (spoiler alert: it rarely makes money!) and I'm not here to sell items to you that you don't need.

If you want to understand how I work in regards to advertising, please read the following:

How Does Advertising Work on This Blog?

Google ADs
These are targetted ADs (outside of my control) based on what google thinks you want to see. When you click these adverts, I get a small fee. (Like, 1p). You will usually see these ADs in-between paragraphs of blog posts.

Other ADs
Occassionally I accept other sidebar ADs and run these for a specific length of time. Currently, I have none running.

Affiliate Links
These are links, which when clicked and purchased from, enable me to receive a small commission. This is basically me recommending something, you buying it, and me being thanked. It does not affect the price you pay. I only recommend products I have bought myself.

Gifted Products
I very rarely accept gifted products, but in the past this has included paint, wall plugs, masking tape, apps. Brands sometimes send me a product in the hope that I will find them useful and mention the product. I only accept products that are useful for current projects I'm working on, or will be useful at some stage. If I don't like a product (which does happen), I have no obligation to use or share it. If I do use the product, I always share which items have been gifted at the end of a post. On social media, I use the tag: AD-Gifted (previously #gifted)

Sponsored Posts
Occassionally, I work with brands to create specific content for the blog, in the form of a sponsorship, where I am being paid. This may be a DIY, a How-to, or a guide of information that I think is relevant and useful to you. As these posts are sponsored by a brand, it will almost certainly involve their products/service. I have recieved payment for this type of post, because it is a guaranteed form of advertising for them and it's creating content which is work for me.

This money helps me to create more content and it pays for the running costs of a blog. I am however, incredibly selective on the sponsored posts I will work on, and I do not ever work with brands that aren't relevant to my blog. I don't promote items or services I wouldn't use or buy myself. It's pretty simple. Think of it like a company sponsoring a sports event. A company likes what I do, pays me to create with them and in effect of this, they are equally promoted for having done so. On these posts, I will use a disclaimer telling you it has been sponsored, and by whom. On social media I use the tag: AD-Sponsored (previously #sponsored)
