Beautiful Blooms & a Summer Garden Update!

As we’re only about a month away from Autumn beginning, I thought I’d look back at some photos of the garden this summer and share some of the best and beautiful blooms. Plus, take a little look at a summer garden update and how things are progressing!

Last year we dug up and moved lots of plants to new locations throughout the garden. In tern, each plant suffered badly and our August garden last year was looking more like a hibernating winter! However, I’m super pleased to say that most of the plants are recovering. We had a small hydrangea bloom this year and most of the rose bushes are back on form too. I say ‘most’ – two still seem to be recovering and sadly had no bloom this year.. but I have hope for next year!

We also planted two climbers earlier this year and one of them has taken off like a storm. Our privacy issues are declining by the day! Plus these too have had a beautiful bloom this year too!

We still have a fair way to go in the garden. There’s still the patio to build, more plants to buy, a fire pit we’re yet to create and more concrete that needs removing. But we’ve come a fair way in a year – there’s now grass and it certainly feels like a garden. Something I hadn’t had for about five years! We even now have a pallet seating area and a little feature hanging wall. The dogs are loving the garden too, Doug is always using the flower beds as a his own garden bed and coming inside muddy as can be. Oh, dogs. Do you spy him?

We just have one more large garden job to finish this year: building a fire pit. But I’ll save that for another post sometime soon 😉

I’m excited to hopefully get this area ticked off completely from our to-do list next year! Woop!
