Spare bedroom, anyone?

Apologies for the lack of bloggyness the past couple of weeks. It's been a pretty hectic couple, with house-warmings, birthdays and family visits. Not to mention having no internet either.

We 'warmed' our house with what was meant to be an afternoon casual gathering. Of course, this turned into a 2am-finish drunken night. Being 23 and having gone to house-parties for the last 10 years, they are becoming very juvenile. Whenever spin-the-bottle gets suggested, I just want to cry. Please no. So our intentions for this house-warming were meant to be more sophisticated. Although for sophistication, you would need sophisticated friends. So naturally, it became a house-party.. but who am I to complain, I had a pretty good night. Sometimes no matter how hard you try to be grown-up, we're all still big kids at heart and especially so when we're on the drink. ;) But don't worry, there was no spin-the-bottle, that's my cut-off.

During this house-warming, we opened the question up as to whether anyone would be interested in renting a room. Mates rates of course. It's something we had thought about a lot - this house is pretty darn big and we have no intentions of filling it with little-ones any time soon. We couldn't possibly use every room, even if we tried... and the idea of extra money is very very tempting. However as a newbie to sharing our house with someone else, we wouldn't a stranger just yet. So we decided if we were going to rent out a room, it would have to be a friend/colleague or just someone we knew in some way. We offered the idea up; if anyone was interested in moving in, we were serious on looking for a lodger. Surprisingly there was a fair bit of interest. Of course, this isn't a 'move-in-tomorrow' scenario, we need to do a bit of work first. But with the definite possible interest, a lodgers-bedroom has now become a priority in one of the first rooms to renovate.

So now, we have three rooms we're going to be working on at once. The garden, when the weather is nice. The bathroom when there's two of us working together, and the smallest third bedroom for dreary days on my own. Plans on all three to come soon.
