House Purchase Updates

We're now about a little over a month into our home-purchase and earlier this week we received the much anticipated news that we had been issued the mortgage offer we needed on the new place! Huzzah. So far so good! We'd actually held back on paying for the new mortgage valuation to go ahead until we exchanged contracts on our sale, so this news only came 10 days after I paid. Pretty good going in my opinion, well done Nationwide. *applaudes* We still have a fair way to go, the mortgage offer has to be checked for special conditions and searches need to be done. Not to mention our solicitors are beyond slow and crap so I certainly wouldn't expect us to be in the new place for at least another month... But it's a relief to hear some good news about the prospect of our dream home.

So yeah, the property has been valued up to the offer we put in. This was a major relief as we actually put an offer of 2k over the asking price! We mainly did this because there was another cash-offer on table, and we desperately wanted this place.. and obviously we had big problems with valuations with the house we we've just sold. So BIG relief there. No major issues (that I know of!) have been uncovered either, which means there was no retention of money on the mortgage. Thank poops!

After all this good news, I've began making a few pins on pinterest for ideas. I'd done this with the house we were going to buy, but some of the ideas were for smaller spaces - where-as this new place is pretty big so I've started afresh with a new board called New Houseyness Pt.2 although I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much incase things are yet to go sour. Fingers crossed it all continues to run smoothly! Can't wait to get my hands dirty and begin renovating again. I'm hoping we'll be moved before the summer ends, maybe the garden will have to be the first port of call.

So many ideas, so much excitement! Let's get mooooving.
