Updates on Our New House-Purchase!

We've found a new house and we're about a month into the buying process! Earlier this week we received the much-anticipated news that we had been issued the mortgage offer we needed. Huzzah. So far so good!

This news has only come 10 days after we paid for the valuation, so that's pretty good going in my opinion! Well done Nationwide *applaudes*. We still have a fair way to go with the sale as the mortgage offer has to be checked for special conditions and searches still need to be done. Not to mention our solicitors are beyond slow and crap so I certainly wouldn't expect us to be moving for at least another month - but it's a relief to hear some good news at least.

Actually, it's quite a big relief as the offer we put in on the house was 2k over the asking price! (This was because there was a cash offer on the table and we desperately wanted this one!) Getting a valuation to match our overpriced offer was something we had worried a little bit about, so BIG relief for sure and there have been no other major issues (that I know of!) uncovered either, which means there was no retention on the mortgage. Thank poops!

After all this good news, I've began making a few pins on pinterest for ideas. I had already done this with the first house we were going to buy, but since that house is about 1000x smaller, I think I can upgrade my ideas a little, ha! So, I've started afresh with a new board, although I probably shouldn't get my hopes up too much in case things fall through (again!).

Fingers crossed eh? Can't wait to get my hands dirty and begin renovating again. I'm hoping we'll be moved before the summer ends and then maybe the garden will be our first port of call.

So many ideas, so much excitement! Let's get mooooving already!
