This ones just a quick post on an update on the sale of our house...mark 4. After having accepted our cash buyers offer on the house we thought things would move really fast... They told us they wouldn't be having any surveys on the house, and they didn't need a mortgage either so no valuation was required (this is often the time-consuming bit!) - the only hold-up we should have had was the searches. Three weeks on, we've heard absolutely nothing from them. I began pestering our solicitors (who, by the way are crap!) nearly every day. I kept being told they would "phone me back", and of course they never did. But eventually I was told we were awaiting "enquires" from the buyers, whatever that might be. I continued to phone and phone, day after day, hoping they would be pressured into chasing it up regularly. Time past by and still no enquires. I phoned our estate agent who assured me our buyers solicitors would be raising enquiries that week. But this never happened. Having already lost three buyers, I can't help but feel we were losing our fourth as well. Whatever reason, they're stalling us. Can this really happen to us again? Are we plagued by bad luck? I watch houses sell all the time - why can't we do it?! ARGH. Obviously I have no confirmation of it falling through a fourth time, but I have a bad feeling and can't help but assume the worst.
