Cheeky Purchase of the Day

Yesterday was possibly the last day of sunshine and heat for the week (or so my forecast tells me) so I took the opportunity to get out in the garden. I tidied up the front of the house and came away with four bags of rubbish. These mainly consisted of weeds that pop up in-between slabs but also a lot of street rubbish - wrappers, fag ends, cans, you name it. Our front just seems to accumulate it all for the whole street. Secretly I think it may be our neighbours dumping stuff down there, but I've never actually seen it so probably not.

We also have a path next to our drive which we jointly maintain with our other neighbour. We always intended to re-do the path as it's just dirt and grit and looks messy, but we decided in the end not to bother. Mainly because summer was ending and we just wanted to put our house up for sale before winter.. But now having 3 sales fall through, I'm kinda wishing we had done it, purely just to have something to do! But hey ho, the grit and dirt path stays and I cleaned it up to the best it could be right now (still looks awful though). We also didn't want to annoy the neighbours as they probably had to dirt path put it initially...

So after my hard work, I took a trip to a local garden centre to look for a larger pot for the dying palm tree in the back yard. I then decided I needed a new plant for the existing pot of the palm tree too, so I bought this:

I've wanted one of these for soo long. It's a fuchsia tree, but at the crazy price of £25(!) I've never taken the plunge. But today was that day. Being a non-hardy plant it will die during winter if not protected, so my first task is to remember to bring it in before winter and before it's too late! But I absolutely love it. Who wouldn't want something so bright and PINK in their garden?
