Easter Weekend

April 21, 2014 - No Comments - 2 min read
Easter weekend

This weekend was what I call FAT-WEEKEND. Where eating twice the amount of daily calories is not only normal but required. We each chose our own Easter Egg and then bought a few smaller bits to share, although Grant did surprise me with a few extra eggs as well – I’m a spoilt girl 😉

Mine was the Magnum egg, which was meant to have three chocolate packs inside – but I guess it must have been my lucky day because I got SIX. Winner!

On Saturday we went to a friends BBQ, ate way too much and drank far too much alcohol. I guess that’s what you’d call a typical spring BBQ with friends. It’d been so long since we last had a BBQ with friends, I’m thinking we may host one for Grants birthday in a few weeks.

Everyone loves a good social food and drink event, and we definitely don’t do these things enough!

Sunday called for a roast cooked by Grant. He’s the best at cooking Sunday dinners. We had minted lamb with asparagus, beans and sausages. It was damn tasty!

Unfortunately, I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture of its tasty glory before nomming it straight up. For pudding more chocolatey cakiness. Pure joy.

When we weren’t eating we spent most of the day playing the ‘Pokemon Master Trainer’ board game. I love this game – it reminds me of being a kid so much, staying up till midnight playing with friends.

Here’s Grant losing…

In puppy news – Doug learnt that dogs can’t fly. The little pup is fearless and launched himself off the sofa into the air – I’m not sure what he was aiming for, but it didn’t end too well. Lessons learnt.

Unfortunately, Grant had to work Sunday night so our celebrations ended pretty soon but hey-ho, we still had a lovely weekend full of foodie goodness.

Happy Easter!
